Good Morning,

Paul’s letter to the church at Ephesus was encouraging yet admonishing because he knew its direction and where it would lead them. Every soldier who went into battle was outfitted with protective pieces; if he wore them as instructed, he might survive the battle he faced. The “Wide Band of Truth” protects us from being infected with the lie whether it is against us or someone else. Remember, the Devil does not want anything to do with peace and will do everything in His power to interrupt it. Today in our nation and across the globe we deal with the same issues we have from the earliest of times “the color of our skin” and the religion we practice. The Devil compels people to act in such a way as to cause a disturbance either through a bomb or a knife; when it is reported, we turn our aggression toward the person’s family line.

My encouragement for you today is that you will tighten the Wide Band of Truth around you so that it never falls away. Never allow people to dictate to you what the “Truth is” and always get it from the Word of God. If you lack wisdom and direction in the situations that you are facing, ask for it (James 1:5).

Father,

When it comes to the “Truth”, there is no place I would rather go than to you. When our world seems to be falling apart, I know that it is you who holds the pillars still. Human glorification is useless because it makes the person seem right when they are woefully misled (Psalms 75:3-4). Please help me today to but the belt of truth on so that I will know right from wrong.
