Weapons of Our Warfare Part VIII

Good Morning,

All of humanity has five senses built into our body: visual, taste, smell, touch, and hearing. Marketers glean from Consumer Behavior Studies how to best attract consumers by playing to those senses (Advertise). It is why when you go to a Casino, the first thing you hear is bells ringing and coins dropping and when you go to food stores you smell fresh donuts first thing in the morning and the fruit is polished; all of this is aimed at separating the consumer from their precious resources. In similar ways, the Devil also uses our senses against us by observing what we do, identifying our triggers, and our appetites that prompt us to sin willingly; A deterrent to this is the “Helmet of Salvation”.

Faking our salvation might impress the world but it will never convince the Lord and will not convince the enemy of our soul because, the Holy Spirit testifies about us that is, “who we belong to” (Psalms 87:5-6). When we put on the helmet, we protect our minds from the Devil’s arguments and the strongholds that have held us bound (BattleField of the Mind). The helmet’s strength is derived from our relationship with Jesus and the Word of God. When we seek to know the Word of God through a daily reading program, and study, we will know the truth of the Devil’s claims and be set free from the hold it has on us (John 8:31-32). Equally, when we surrender our lives to Jesus and seek to know Him as a personal savior, we will find rest in the battle that rages for our souls (Matthew 11:28).

Father,

Above all things You are Holy and You are Just. Your desire is that all of mankind will come to salvation through Jesus Christ (1 Timothy 2:3-5). I pray for my families tonight Lord that you will watch over them as they complete their day.

I.H.S. MK
