Life of the Patriarchs Part IV Abram

Good Morning,

The Lord had chosen Abram to leave Ur and go to Canaan. Abram received a promise or a “covenant” when he got to Canaan. Because of the famine in the land, he took his family to Egypt. Because he was afraid he’d be killed for his wife, he told her, “Tell them I am your brother and, I will tell them ‘you are my sister’”. Technically Abram was right Sarai was his sister but, the Egyptians do not deal in “Technicalities”. Remember this, any time we struggle with our faith, God’s promises are still “Yes and Amen” (2 Corinthians 1:20). For Abram and Sarai, it meant that though he thought his life would be in peril if he said “she is my wife”, no harm would have come to him and it didn’t.

My encouragement for you today is that you will consider all of the promises the Lord has made to you concerning your life and ministry that “… He who started a good work in you will be faithful to complete it …” (Philippians 1:3-8). The Lord does not ask us to have “Mountain moving faith”, He asks us to trust Him going into, going through, and coming out of the storms.

Father,

Thank you for this brand-new day in our lives. You have blessed us with rain to cover our fields, strength to face each new day, and hope that is not predicated on our feelings. Please help me today and always to present Your word in such a way as to minister to the heart of the reader. I pray in thanksgiving for an increase in readership and that they would be blessed through this ministry as You have promised. I pray for those in need of a special touch from you. I pray especially for those who are struggling with health issues.

I.H.S. MK
