Main verse Genesis 14
Good Morning,
When looking at this segment of scripture, one word comes to mind, “Perceptions”. After conquering the five kings of the Jordan Valley and returning was stolen, the king of Gomorrah offered Abram all of the spoils of war but Abram refused. So, why didn’t Abram take it? The spoils were a potential source of a bribe something that could have come back to haunt Abram (Proverbs 17:8). Being faithful to the Lord is more than just repeating the tired mantra, “I believe the Lord will ____”, it is walking in his convictions by the things we allow or do not allow into our lives (1 Corinthians 15:58).
My encouragement for you today is that you will carefully consider the choices that you make, what you allow into your life, and who won the battles that you will face. We are admonished in scripture to keep our eyes on the prize for Abram it was rescuing Lot for us it is the upward calling in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:13-14).
Father,
Without a doubt, there are things in this world that pull at us that will enslave us if we are not careful. The Devil knows the right strings to pull that will trip us up. Your desire on our lives is that we would be free so that we can move without limitations. Please help me today to always keep my eyes on you and do that which pleases you.
