Good morning

As a child, I used to see bumblebees constantly but for the past 3 decades, I haven’t seen any until this year. This year my mother-in-law bought a plant, I believe it is lavender, and it attracts bumblebees. When I considered this, a thought came to my mind how people go through life from one disaster to the next never having joy and hope in their life and they are a most miserable lot. The flip side of “being miserable” is, “over-flowing joy”. The people who have this “over-flowing joy” are the happiest and most content people on the planet. Like the plants that bring bumblebees, we have to plant the word of God firmly in our lives which brings joy and hope in our lives.

My encouragement for you today is that you plant the seeds of the Word of God in your life through daily reading and meditation (John 8:31-32). When you plant seeds, it takes time for plants of righteousness to grow in you. When you ask the Holy Spirit into your life, He will water the seeds that you plant, and they will grow in the sunshine of God’s love for you (John 7:38).

Father,

In the beginning, this world was a lot like our lives, “dark, formless, and empty” (Genesis 1:1). The song says, “People Need the Lord” and it is true because without him in us, we never know joy, but we may have sporadic happiness that passes like the sun. Please help me today to plant seeds of joy in my life through the administration of your Word so that beautiful plants of hope and joy will grow.
