Main Verse: Joshua 22
Good morning!
After honoring their commitment to Joshua and the nation, the Trans-Jordian tribes were going home to their wives and children. From the day they crossed the Jodan until the day the land was under Israel’s control, the Trans-Jordian tribes had fought side-by-side with the 9 and ½ tribes. At the border, the 2 and ½ tribes built an altar as a reminder of the work done and the promises made. The children of the 2 and ½ tribes did not witness all the events on the other side of the Jordan because they remained with their mother. While wealth is always good to leave for your children, it will never be a lasting legacy because the money would be spent. The monument, on the other hand, was a lasting legacy.
In a court of law, lawyers must present evidence to substantiate their claims because the claim is meaningless without proof. For the Israelite nation, the stories they told about its history were also meaningless without proof; for this reason, people built altars (Genesis 33:18-20), wells (Genesis 21:27-34), and piles of boulders (Joshua 4:19-24). So, what does this mean to us today? Jesus Christ’s blood on Calvary united us with God’s family. So, if there is a question about whether or not you belong to God, the cross is the altar you look to, and decide for yourself whose child you are. If there is unforgiveness in your heart, sins that you have not confessed and repented of, this is the time to deal with them while you are alive (Mark 11:25-26). My encouragement for those of you today who are feeling alienated by God is that you will look to the cross, seek forgiveness, repent, and the blood of Jesus Christ will purify your conscience and set you free from that fear (Hebrews 9:11-15)

Father,
Thank you for sending Jesus to this dark world to be the light that showed the way back to you. If Jesus had not come, I would still be dead although alive and my life would be pointless. Because I no longer bear the weight of the guild of sin, I have joy and peace. I pray for those today who are on the fence and need a word of encouragement to guide them. I pray for those today who need a special touch from you and for those who need to come back to the cross, will you please touch them today?
In Jesus’ Name
