Good morning! I had a dream last night in which I saw this kiddie pool above the pool was a nozzle that when opened, supplies to make a pizza were poured out. Each time the nozzle was opened a different type of pizza was poured out. I was tasked with instructing people about life to which I used pizza supplies as an example. I heard a silent voice tell me, “Dump the old stuff and start fresh” but I told myself, “No, you can make money from the old stuff”. The problem with not obeying that silent voice was that, while yes, I got my point across, the outcome of the pizza was unpredictable. In the same way, when we come to the Lord, He doesn’t save the mess that is in the pool of our lives thinking, “I might be able to use it later on”, he pours out what brought us to Him and starts over again so that the outcome is predictable. In the same way, when the woman poured out the fragrant oil from the alabaster box, she was castigated for not selling it to give money to the pour. The woman had to be thinking, “Yes but, you don’t know what I did to earn the money to buy it in the first place, I am not proud of it in the 2nd place, and it was mine to begin with”. (Luke 7:36-50). In God’s purview, “Coming to the Lord” is not a transfer of ownership, it is a “Transformation of the heart”. In the dream, the pool did not stop being a vessel for pouring the supplies in just because I used it as a literary device, it continued to be a vessel.
