Good morning!
At the start of every college course, the students are given an outline pointing out the test dates, project due dates, and class schedules. The students who took the information seriously and prepared for the course usually did better than those who didn’t. Studying for a test or completing a project was usually not much fun but, again, those who took it seriously on average did better than those who didn’t. In the same way, when you consider the Word of God, the stories and snippets provide life lessons through the eyes of the people. The more we immerse ourselves in the Word, the more the stories and God’s commands line up. We may never understand why the Lord asked us to do or not do something, but we can be assured; He meant it and we need to be obedient. If we are disobedient to His commands, we will find out at the wrong time exactly why He commanded us to do it in the first place (Proverbs 1:8-10).
Many of you today are just coming out a trial, still others, are still going through them, and the others are about to go through them. For this reason, we are encouraged by Jesus to stay in the Word (John 8:31). There are two truths that I have learned about the Kingdom of God, first, God never says anything he doesn’t mean or, is unimportant, and second our victories and defeats are to be used as steps to the next trial. When we refuse to take this onboard, we have a tendency to respond like the disciples did about the “Leaven of the Pharisees” (Matthew 16:5-7).
Yours for the victory
