Main Verse: Matthew 5:20-46, Exodus 22
Good morning!
Only in children’s storybooks and movies will the knight in shining armor arrive to save the damsel in destress, save the kingdom, and “Live happily ever after.” The reality, the knight is a human being and is subject to sin. When America elected Donald Trump in 2016 and again in 2024 the hope was Donald would save the nation from decline. For the past 9 months though, there has been endless talk on social media and news outlets about corrupt leaders, The Epstein Files, immigration, and healthcare. Accordingly, the major culprits are the President and those who aligned themselves with him. The hypothesis is, removing the “Bad Guy” will solve the nation’s woes (John 11:50). While getting rid of the bad guy is a clever idea what people forget is, sin affects everyone (Romans 3:22-24), and one is not good because he/she does not do what the other man does (Luke 18:18-19). It would be impressive if a knight in shining armor rode in on his/her noble steed to save this nation because we really need it. The question I have is, should a rider on a white horse ride in to save the day, what else would he/she bring with them? So, we have a conundrum, how do we save this union? The answer my friends is through the blood of Jesus Christ coupled with faithfulness and obedience (Psalms 19:7-11). If this nation implodes, nobody will be coming to our aid just as nobody came to the aid of Israel (2 Kings 14:26).
My encouragement for you today is, never give up on this nation no matter how bad the days may become. Pray for the peace of this nation and never stop praying (Psalms 122:6-9, Ezekiel 22:30-31). Never forget that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal and, as such, are useless against each other (2 Corinthians 10:3-6).
