Main Verse: Isaiah 48:4-11

Good morning!

Jacob, the son of Isaac and Rebecca, was a rebel from birth (Genesis 25:24-26). One would think Jacob’s past would be wiped away after the showdown at Mahanaim (Genesis 32:22-32); the Lord forgave Jacob; However, the sins of the father, Jacob, were still alive in the hearts of his sons and daughter (Genesis 35:24-31, Genesis 47:2-5). The Lord could have destroyed Israel as He had done to Sodom and Gomorrah however, His covenant promise to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob/Israel was and is still in play (Numbers 14:13-16, Psalms 34:4-7). The Israelites lay claim to being citizens of the Holy City, Jerusalem, and their reliance on the God of their ancestors; unfortunately, they refused to obey the laws and precepts of the Lord which, refuted their claim (Exodus 20:4-17, Ezekiel 20:21-26). The point I am making is; God is never through with us unless we surrender to sin and give up; when we give up, the Lord will always find someone else who will pray and seek the face of the Lord (Ezekiel 22:23-31).

In America today and across the world sin is destroying precious lives which once held intrinsic value and, as such, peace is elusive. The Lord wants to bless us, uplift us, and pave the way to a bright future however, we tell the Lord what we want by our choices (Jeremiah 29:11). God did not choose us because we were someone special or, we had something to bring to the table, He chose us because, like Abraham, we responded to His call upon our lives (Genesis 12:1-5). When we walk out of fellowship with the Lord to serve the gods of this earth, the Lord will remove His blessing over lives and give it to someone else who will serve Him with an undivided heart (Zechariah 11:10-17). I encourage you today if you are living outside of God’s protection and providence, please talk to me and we will work things out together (Proverbs 27:17). “Life without God is like an unsharpened pencil – It has no point” (Billy Graham).
