What is the Lord’s Answer to You?

Main Verse: Isaiah 66:1-11

Good morning!

Prayer, which is one of our strongest and best resources, is also, to me, one of the most misunderstood resources. We see prayer as a one-way conversation with the Lord in which we present our requests to the Lord as one would put a coin in a gumball machine (Philippians 4:4-6). Prayer is also used in perfunctory conversation such as, “I will be praying for you” and then we conveniently forget to pray, or we use it as a chance to pry. While we ask with our mouth, we tell God what we want by our actions consider the parable on Forgiveness (Matthew 18:25-33).

God always answers prayer but not always according to our expectations nor on our time schedule consider the case of King David whose kingdom was established in righteousness and obedience (2 Samuel 7). Sometimes prayer is answered with a project such as Noah’s Ark (Genesis 6:10-22) and others by opportunities to strengthen a skill, for example, asking for patience. The hardest part of prayer is the part faithfulness, obedience, and disobedience play in the success or failure of God’s plan for your life and, consequently, His answers to your prayers (Jeremiah 29:11). My encouragement for you today is, take a deep look into your life to see where you stand with the Lord. Over the coming weeks I will be writing more about prayer and its connection to your life so, please stay tuned to this website.
