Main verse: Isaiah 48
Good morning
In previous writings, I wrote about Faithfulness and Righteousness and how we miss God’s blessings. Today, I want to dig further into the subject “Things we miss out on.” In the 48th chapter of Isaiah the Lord is speaking to “Stubborn Israel”. I would you to put your name in place of “Israel.” Next, I want you to write on a piece of paper or Post-it-Note, “The Two Keys which open the door to God’s blessings, Faithfulness and Obedience;” these two keys are at the heart of every covenant the Lord ever made with his servants (Genesis 9, Genesis 12:1-3, Exodus 19:5, and 2 Samuel 5-16, as examples). The Lord’s plan for Israel was, they would be a light in a dark place and to show the difference between the Holy and the Common; instead, the nation chose to be unfaithful and disobedient leading to another tragedy in human history. In the life of kings Queens, and Prime Ministers, as it is for all humanity, they have the authority to live their lives, gain wealth, impact the nations either negative or positive, to give and take away; the one power we do not, is the timing of our life (Daniel 2:20 – 22). Unfortunately, though we do everything in our power to optimize our lives, we will miss something and leave unanswered questions and a mess for someone else to take care of (Ecclesiastes 2:17 – 19).
You and I are afforded the same power of the kings. What we do with the power and authority granted to us will determine how the next generation will judge us. Mistakes are a natural part of life and something with which we must deal. In today’s political environment. It is widespread practice to point fingers and refuse accountability for our actions; we accept the praise for the work someone else does but never look at our actions. As children of the living God, we are commanded to live up to God’s standards (Romans 12: 1 – 2). I encourage you today my friends, to keep your eyes on the Lord and do not be afraid of the problem soon befalling the world and consequently, you and I (Isaiah 41:10 – 16).
