Mike’s Story

Good morning and Welcome to my website

Good morning and Welcome to my website

I began my journey to Salvation in Jesus Christ in a little village of Kami-Seya Japan in the early fall of 1985 where I was stationed. When I arrived in Kami-Seya in June of 1984, I had no idea what was going to happen or how my life would be irrevocably changed. I had a lot of personal problems and, for the most part, still do, which causes me endless pain. I was the butt of people’s jokes and mean pranks which led me to the point of suicide.

I never felt welcome anywhere, even among family. when I got to Japan, I was at an extremely low point in my life and, if Mental Health would have been an available or viable option, I might have taken it but, stigmas are very hard to get rid of and would have cost me my job I dearly loved. To say, “I hated life” was an understatement. Only a handful of people thought to say a kind word or take an active interest in building me up.

In the early fall of 1985, I was walking along a long dark pathway and as I looked to the stars, I told God, "I am not able to do this alone, and I need your help.” I didn’t understand the full import of what I was saying or how my life would change in beautiful ways. My life did not change overnight, and I still had my hang-ups which something everybody without exception deals with. I learned valuable lessons from 1985 to the present-day. I wanted to hate the people who caused me pain instead, I turned my hate over to God and He has used that hate to foster love for humanity and painful words were exchanged for encouragement. I wish becoming a Christian would make our problems disappear like a well-oiled magic act instead, they remain with us and God uses them to develop us.

From the time I was a child to now in my mid 60’s, I noticed how people would go their entire life without hearing a single word of encouragement; the things we do wrong, the mistakes and problems we cause are presented for the world to hear across the pages of social media; For this reason, I established this site. I told God my desire to be a voice of encouragement to those who desperately need hope and encouragement. I try to keep my writing to one page or about five to 10 minutes of reading. My friend, you are important to the Lord God and He loves you more than you will ever know and it goes for all humanity despite political positioning, sexual preference, and/or educational background. May His word be a light to guide your feet and a lamp which points the way to His kingdom (Ephesians 6:10-20).

I.H.S.
