Covenant and the Perfect Path

Main Verse: Psalms 119:1-16

Good morning

I admire King David because he lived and ruled in the shadow of the Almighty (Psalms 91:1). David was not a “Superhuman being,” he was flawed like you and me. The Bible story is not just about God’s interaction with the Jewish nation so much as it was about God’s interaction with an imperfect species. The only thing that separated David from his peers and descendants was his personal aim to obey the Lord’s laws leading into his rule and, except for a few colossal blunders in judgement, he accomplished his goal and lived to see his son ascend the throne over Israel (1 King 1:48). God’s pathway for humanity hinges on two words: faithfulness and obedience which humanity bent to mean, “Only if it is convenient and if I get to determine what is fair, right, and equitable” (Isaiah 55:6-9). Every day on the news we hear or read about a tragic incident, and we ask why it occurred better yet, “Who is at fault?” I believe God would like to shout back at us, “Follow my laws and your problems will wane and hope would resurge (Isaiah 48:17-19).

The Lord has so much in mind for humanity and so many things the Lord wants to show us and teach us but if we are unwilling to do the little things, all of it is for naught (Isaiah 64:1-6).Today I implore you in the name of all that is Holy to consider the Lord’s plan for your life and turn back to the Lord; your body will not be transformed back to what it was, but your future will be brighter (Jeremiah 29:11-14). I, like King David, am not perfect and have failures in life and paid the price for it (Romans 7:15-19). The Lord is not asking for “Picture Perfect,” the Lord is asking for humanity to see the light of reason.
