Main Verse: Ephesians 6:10-20, 2 Corinthians 10:1-10

Good morning

            Every trade known to humanity has tools of the trade and, when used correctly, the tools assist the tradesman/woman to perform their job; as children of the Living God, we also have tools at our disposal. The difference between the tools of a plumber, electrician, HVAC, and our tools is, they are ineffective against humanity. Paul used the illustration of the “Spiritual armor” because of Rome’s influence and constant presence in the cities; The Roman soldiers always had their armor on to protect themselves, their team, and their leaders. The weapons of our warfare are, the shoes, belt of truth, beast piece, helmet, sword of the Spirit, and shield of faith by themselves the tools are ineffective but combined they are a force to be reconned with. Soldiers are required to maintain their equipment by cleaning, oiling, and testing to ensure the equipment is always serviceable and ready for battle. In the same way, children of the Living God are required to keep their weapons ready by daily bible reading, prayer, and above all praise the Lord always (1 Thessalonians 5:15-22).

            My encouragement for you today is, consider the armor of God and how it will fit into your life. The Lord wants you to be effective so you can overcome the struggles of this world (John 16:33). If we do nothing with the tools, we will lose every battle, every argument, and our growth in the Lord will be stunted no matter how many times we sing Christian songs, go to the altar for prayer, and say, “Jesus is my King.” Remember, the enemy of our soul, although a liar, is no fool is never side-lined by false bravado and reciting scripture (Acts 19:14-16 as an example). Through learning to pray and honing your tools you will have the victory over every challenge in your Life (Tzu, 350-380 BC) (Romans 16:19-20).
