Prayer Introduction

Main Verse: James 4:1-10

Good morning

In the last series I wrote about the Lord’s Covenant and its importance in your life. Today I am shifting focus to prayer. I will present credible evidence on the importance of prayer, why prayer is ineffective in the church/life, and how to harness the power in your life through the lens of the Lord’s friends. I hope you will find this series enlightening. Be sure to read what I put out on my website as well as reel recordings which are put out on Instagram and Facebook. I would like to have dialogue between you and I so please if you have any questions or are not clear on what is being presented, please comment on the writings.

Definitions

Prayer: A special message or talk directed to God

Dialogue: Conversation between two or more parties with all parties having input.

Monologue: One-way communication

Free Prayer: A blank page like an artist’s easel to which the author designs and finishes a letter to the God of Heaven and earth.

Fixed Prayer: Scripted prayer such as the dinner blessing.

Devotions: A special time set aside for worship, prayer, and reading Holy Texts such as a Daily Bible reading program and/or devotional booklets such as, “Our Daily Bread.”

As we get into the study on prayer, I cannot encourage you enough to set aside time each day whether be at night, morning, or midday for prayer and seeking the face of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. My prayer for you today is, you will invite the Lord into your heart and mind today.

I.H.S.
