Good morning

            The title of “Father” like mother, sister, brother, aunt, and/or uncle has different meanings depending on the situation; as an example, we may look like our physical father but reject our father because we did not want to be disciplined by him and decided to adopt another family instead (Proverbs 3:11-12); unfortunately, when we adopt a new family, we become like them through our actions, words, and behaviors. When Jesus said, “Our Father who is in Heaven” he was referring to Father and God of Israel (1 Samuel 8:4-8). Though we are born in sin and have no right to call God our father, Jesus’ innocent blood purchased a pathway to salvation, a new relationship with God, and the right to call Him Abba Father (Romans 8:12-17).

            My question for you today, “Who is your spiritual father” and is there enough evidence to prove your claim” (John 8:42-47). While the Lord will never condemn us, our soul will tell the truth when put on trial either we will have peace knowing God is our Father or fear knowing the God we serve is the god of this world (1 John 3:16-20) p23pp2 (MacArthur, 1986). I encourage you today to check in with your heart to see if your relationship with God is alive and well in your heart. The Lord has great plans for you but all of them will fall through if we refuse to let Him into our lives (Jeremiah 29:11-14).
